Helen and Graham were married in August at the beautiful Dower House Hotel & Spa in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. It was a day full of laughter, happy tears and plenty of celebration. Even a little Yorkshire rain couldn’t dampen the atmosphere, and it turned out to be a truly memorable wedding from start to finish.
As a Dower House wedding photographer, it was such a pleasure to capture this lovely couple’s day at one of North Yorkshire’s most charming wedding venues.
Bridal Preparations at Dower House Hotel & Spa
The morning began with Helen getting ready alongside her bridesmaids at Dower House Hotel & Spa. There was a real sense of excitement in the air as everyone prepared for the day ahead.
I started by photographing all the important details, including Helen’s wedding dress, shoes, jewellery and beautiful flowers. These little details help tell the story of the day and are always some of my favourite photographs to capture.
As the morning progressed, the anticipation grew before it was finally time for Helen to step into her stunning wedding dress and make her way to the ceremony.
A Beautiful Wedding Venue in North Yorkshire
Nestled between Knaresborough and Harrogate, Dower House Hotel & Spa is a wonderful choice for couples looking for a relaxed and elegant North Yorkshire wedding venue.
The venue offers beautiful grounds, stylish interiors and a welcoming atmosphere, making it ideal for both intimate celebrations and larger wedding days. The combination of countryside surroundings and luxury accommodation creates a lovely setting for wedding photography throughout the year.
A Joyful Wedding Celebration
Following a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends, guests enjoyed drinks and celebrations at the venue while we made the most of every opportunity for photographs.
The reception took place in one of Dower House’s elegant function rooms, creating the perfect backdrop for speeches, laughter and plenty of dancing later in the evening.
Although rain arrived shortly after the ceremony, we simply waited for a break in the weather before heading outside for confetti photographs and family group pictures.
One of the advantages of being an experienced wedding photographer is knowing that a little patience often pays off. Thankfully, the weather gave us a window of opportunity and we were able to continue with all the important photographs.
Couple Portraits in Knaresborough
Once the rain eased, we took a short trip into nearby Knaresborough for some relaxed couple portraits.
With its famous viaduct, river views and picturesque surroundings, Knaresborough offers some fantastic locations for wedding photography. These photographs became some of my favourites from the day and gave Helen and Graham a chance to enjoy a few quiet moments together away from the celebrations.

Kind Words From Helen & Graham
‘We had Ingrid for our wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. Not only was she very patient, she got every shot we wanted and 100’s more. I love each photo. Ingrid has captured treasured moments. I didn’t know she was there with the camera half the time. The photos are everything I could have wished for. We are both very happy with the images. Thank you again Ingrid you are fantastic x .
